The Butterfly Effect (Or How You can effectively start a World War)

The Butterfly Effect (Or How You can effectively start a World War)

We all want to go back in past change one little thing, so that our lives would be completely guilt-free.

Turns out that even if you want to, you would end up ruining and tearing the world apart in one or more ways.

Butterfly effect states that if the butterfly didn't flap at that particular time and space, hurricane wouldn't have happened.

Or, inversely speaking, if the butterfly had been at the right place and the right time the hurricane would certainly take place, i.e. small changes in initial conditions leads to drastic and humongous results.

Our world is a very big and complex system with each actions and phenomena tightly attached and linked to each other.

Butterfly effect is also called as the Chaos theory. But as the name suggests, its not actually related to disorder.

Its actually a link between order and disorder of a system.

Because of the theory being valid in a complex system with everything intertwined with each other, we can't actually determine the fate of the system. No matter how much initial conditions are given. And for a complex system, you can't at any time determine with a perfect accuracy what the initial conditions actually are.

Basically your next step can create a World-War. As you don't know how your small step can get integrated to form what.

Here are some more baffling and mind-blowing display of Butterfly Effect:

So next time you wonder your life's worth, do keep in mind you can in theory change the world in a more baffling way than one can ever imagine.

What are some interesting facts about Universe?

by Aditya Pulugurtha
According to Stephen Hawking, time travel might be possible in two ways in future. According to him,

1. First theory is that time slows down as we approach heavy objects.
So in the future if we can manage to find a black hole that we can go near to, according to this theory, we can slow down the time. After spending just few days near it and returning to earth, people on earth would be many years ahead of us.
A black hole as we know from science fiction stuff, absorbs even light into it, there by it has infinite density and unimaginable mass.

2. Second theory is that some how if  we can beat the light by a large amount in a race, we can slow down the time. Consider a train that travels at a great speed ( obviously it can't beat the light) such that it can rotate round the earth at a rate of say 7 times every second, then some strange things happen. Now obviously light inside the train has a relative velocity compared to every light ray outside, very high. So the nature makes some changes in the other dimensions I.e, time so as to completely nullify the effect of higher velocity than light. It means time becomes slower so as to nullify the extra velocity of the light achieved inside the train. In this way also we can manipulate the time.
