Why Hinduism is a scientific religion

Purushottam's answer to What do the Vedas and astronomical texts have to say about the planets and their environment?

Earth goes around the Sun – (Rig Veda 10. 22. 14. and Yajur Veda 3. 6).

Complete verse- “This earth is devoid of hands and legs, yet it moves ahead. All the objects over the earth also move with it. It moves around the sun”.

Sun and whole Universe are round —(Yajur Veda 20. 23).

Shape of Earth is like an Oblate Spheroid —(Rig Veda XXX. IV.V).

Moon is enlightened by the Sun – (Yajur Veda 18, 20).

‘Earth is flattened at the poles’ — (Markandeya Purana 54.12).

There are many Suns –Rig Veda 10.149.1

Seven colours in the Sun – (Atharva Veda 7. 107. 1).

“The sun has tied Earth and other planets through attraction and moves them around itself as if a trainer moves newly trained horses around itself holding their reins.” — (Rig Veda 10.149.1)

“O Sun! When you are blocked by the one whom you gifted your own light (moon), then earth will be surprised by the sudden darkness.” — (Rig Veda 5.40.5)

“The Sun does never set nor rise. When people think the Sun is setting it is not so. For after having arrived at the end of the day it makes itself produce two opposite effects, making night to what is below and day to what is on the other side having reached the end of the night, it makes itself produce two opposite effects, making day to what is below and night to what is on the other side. In fact, the Sun never sets” — (Aitareya Brahmana 3.44)

“People living in countries at points diametrically opposite to where the sun is first seen rising, will see sun setting and if a straight line were drawn from the point where the sun is at midway, then people in countries at the opposite end ofthe line would be experiencing midnight and vice versa”-(Bhagavatam 5.21.8-9)

Electromagnetic field, conversion of mass and energy – (Rig Veda 10. 72).

The gravitational effect of solar system makes the earth stable- (Rig Veda 1-103-2, 1-115-4 and 5-81-2).

The axle of the Earth does not get rusted, the Earth continues to revolve on its axle- (Rig Veda 1-164-29).

The Sun never sets or rises and it is the Earth, which rotates- (Sama-Ved 121).

The science of Time and its subtle nature is described in (R.V.1-92-12 & 1-95-8)

Blue Sky is nothing but scattered Sunlight-(Markandeya Purana 78.8).

“Through astronomy, geography, and geology, go thou to all the different countries of the world under the sun. Mayest thou attain through good preaching to statesmanship and artisanship, through medical science obtain knowledge of all medicinal plants, through hydrostatics learn the different uses of water, through electricity understand the working of ever lustrous lightening. Carry out my instructions willingly.”(Yajur Veda 6.21)

“O royal skilled engineer, construct sea-boats, propelled on water by our experts, and airplanes, moving and flying upward, after the clouds that reside in the mid-region, that fly as the boats move on the sea, that fly high over and below the watery clouds. Be thou, thereby, prosperous in this world created by the Omnipresent God, and flier in both air and lightning.” —(Yajur Veda 10.19)

“The atomic energy fissions the ninety-nine elements, covering its path by the bombardments of neutrons without let or hindrance. Desirous of stalking the head, ie. the chief part of the swift power, hiden in the mass of molecular adjustments of the elements, this atomic energy approaches it in the very act of fissioning it by the above-noted bombardment. Herein, verily the scientists know the similar hidden striking force of the rays of the sun working in the orbit of the moon.” —(Atharva-veda 20.41.1-3)

We have all heard about Hindu Aryan seers knowing about Zero-

purnamadah purnamidam purnaat purnamudachyate
purnasya purnaamadaya purnameva vashishyate.

Ishavasya Upanishad explains the characteristic of the Zero as above.

Meaning of the Shloka is:
That is Full, This also is Full, From Fullness comes that Fullness,
Taking Fullness from Fullness, Fullness Indeed Remains.

When we use Zero in place of Purna:

That is Zero, This is also Zero. Result of adding two Zeros is Zero itselfTaking Zero from Zero, Zero remains as it was!

Let’s talk about Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in our ancient scriptures-

Uranus and Neptune were discovered through telescope in 781 AD by Herschel, but their calculated position never matched with original one.
It was corrected by German Astronomers in 1846 AD.

But Sage Veda Vyas mentioned Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in his epic poem Mahabharata (written more than 5000 years back in India).

Vyas has named them as Shweta, Shyama and Teekshana/Teevra.

Uranus or Shweta (Greenish White planet)

Vishesheena hi Vaarshneya Chitraam Pidayate Grahah….[10-Udyog.143]
Swetograhastatha Chitraam Samitikryamya Tishthati….[12-Bhishma.3]

Here Vyas states that some Greenish-White (Shweta) planet has crossed Chitra Nakshatra.

Neelakantha of 17th century also had the knowledge of Uranus or Shweta.
Sweta means greenish white, which was later discovered to be the color of Uranus.

Neelakantha writes in his commentary on Mahabharat (Udyog 143) that Shweta, or Mahapada (one which has greater orbit) was a famous planet in the Astronomical science of India.
Neelakantha calls this “Mahapada” which means having greater orbit and it indicates a planet beyond Saturn.

Neptune or Shyama (Bluish White planet)

Shukrahah Prosthapade Poorve Samaruhya Virochate Uttare tu Parikramya Sahitah Samudikshyate. [15 Bheeshma.3]

Syamograhah Prajwalitah Sadhooma iva Pavakah Aaindram Tejaswi Nakshattram Jyesthaam Aakramya Tishthati. [16-Bheeshma.3]

Vyas mentions that a Bluish White (Shyama) planet was in “Jyeshtha” and it was smoky (Sadhoom).

Neelkantha calls it “Parigha” (Circumference) in his commentary on Mahabharat.
He meant that its orbit was almost of the Circumference of our solar system.

How did Sage Vyas see color of these planets ?

Mirrors and Microscopic Vision are mentioned in Mahabharata- (Shanti A. 15,308).
So, lenses and telescopes must also be present at that time.
In ancient literature, Durbini (device used to see objects at far off distance, similar to binoculars) were mentioned.

Now, Pluto or Teekshana/Teevra

Pluto was discovered to the modern world in 1930.

Krittikaam Peedayan Teekshnaihi Nakshatram…[30-Bhishma.3]

Here Vyas states that some immobile luminary was troubling Krittika (Pleides) with its sharp rays.

This was mentioned as Nakshatra because it was stationary at one place for long period, so it is a planet in outer orbit.

It gets mentioned again as

Krittikasu Grahasteevro Nakshatre Prathame Jvalan…… [26- Bhishma.3]

Mathematical calculations make it clear that Krittika and Pluto were conjunct during Mahabharata period.

Vyas has mentioned ‘Seven Great planets‘, three times in Mahabharat-

Deepyamanascha Sampetuhu Divi Sapta Mahagrahah…[2-Bhishma.17]

It means that the seven great planets were brilliant and shining. In traditional indian astrology, Rahu and Ketu are nodes/shadows and do not shine like stars or planets.

Nissaranto Vyadrushanta Suryaat Sapta Mahagrahah…[4-Karna 37]

This line states that these seven great planets were ‘seen‘ moving away from the Sun.
Since Rahu & Ketu cannot be ‘seen’, they can be ruled out.
This statement is made on sixteenth day of Kurukshetra War, when the Moon has moved away from Sun.
Hence we can assume Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are the seven great planets mentioned by Vyas.
Pluto was neglected due to its lesser impact on earth.

Moon was excluded from the “7 Great Planets”, which clearly shows that Astronomers could distinguish between Planets and Satellites-

Praja Samharane Rajan Somam Sapta grahah Iva….[22-Drona 37]

Today there is no trace of the Ancient Durbin to be found neither how to build it.

Who’s to say we can’t add to the list of knowledge of things we have forgotten- Spacecraft, Missiles, etc?

Also, to learn about a story where Space-Time Continum is brilliantly “protrayed" from the Mahabharat-

Aseem Purushottam's answer to What is the Sacredness of Om Mantra?

Aseem Purushottam's answer to Why does eating beef hurt the sentiments of some Hindus when they enjoy eating chicken & mutton?

The above 2 answers shall give you another glimpse at the soaring splendor of the Behemoth that Sanathan Dharma is.

What people think of Hinduism is irrelevent to what Hinduism actually is.

It must be known that it was firstly the white people themselves who propagated that Hinduism was the most scientific religion ever. Not Hindus.

William James, American Author: "From the Vedas we learn a practical art of surgery, medicine, music, house building under which mechanized art is included. They are encyclopedia of every aspect of life, culture, religion, science, ethics, law, cosmology and meteorology."Sir William Jones, British Orientalist: "The Sanskrit language, whatever be its antiquity is of wonderful structure, more perfect than the Greek, more copious than the Latin and more exquisitely refined than either."P. Johnstone: "Gravitation was known to the Hindus (Indians) before the birth of Newton. The system of blood circulation was discovered by them centuries before Harvey was heard of."Emmelin Plunret: "They were very advanced Hindu astronomers in 6000 because. Vedas contain an account of the dimension of Earth, Sun, Moon, Planets and Galaxies." ('Calendars and Constellations')Sylvia Levi: "She (India) has left indelible imprints on one fourth of the human race in the course of a long succession of centuries. She has the right to reclaim... Her place amongst the great nations summarizing and symbolizing the spirit of humanity. From Persia to the Chinese sea, from the icy regions of Siberia to Islands of Java and Borneo, India has propagated her beliefs, her tales, and her civilization! "Schopenhauer: "Vedas are the most rewarding and the most elevating book which can be possible in the world." (Works VI P.427)Colonel James Todd: "Where can we look for sages like those whose systems of philosophy were prototypes of those of Greece: to whose works Plato, Thales and Pythagorus were disciples? Where do I find astronomers whose knowledge of planetary systems yet excites wonder in Europe as well as the architects and sculptors whose works claim our admiration, and the musicians who could make the mind oscillate from joy to sorrow, from tears to smile with the change of modes and varied intonation? "Lancelot Hogben: "There has been no more revolutionary contribution than the one which the Hindus (Indians) made when they invented ZERO." ('Mathematics for the Millions')Wheeler Wilcox: "India - The land of Vedas, the remarkable works contain not only religious ideas for a perfect life, but also facts which science has proved true. Electricity, radium, electronics, airship, all were known to the seers who founded the Vedas."W. Heisenberg, German Physicist: "After the conversations about Indian philosophy, some of the ideas of Quantum Physics that had seemed so crazy suddenly made much more sense."Sir W. Hunter, British Surgeon: "The surgery of the ancient Indian physicians was bold and skilful. A special branch of surgery was dedicated to rhinoplasty or operations for improving deformed ears, noses and forming new ones, which European surgeons have now borrowed."Sir John Woodroffe: "An examination of Indian Vedic doctrines shows that it is in tune with the most advanced scientific and philosophical thought of the West."B.G. rele: "Our present knowledge of the nervous system fits in so accurately with the internal description of the human body given in the Vedas (5000 years ago). Then the question arises whether the Vedas are really religious books or books on anatomy of the nervous system and medicine." ('The Vedic Gods')

And here is a lengthy quote by Annie Besant that perfectly sums up all opinions-

“After a study of some forty years and more of the great religions of the world, I find none so perfect , none so scientific, none so philosophical and none so spiritual that the great religion known by the name of Hinduism. Make no mistake, without Hinduism, India has no future. Hinduism is the soil in to which India's roots are stuck and torn out of that she will inevitably wither as a tree torn out from its place. And if Hindus do not maintain Hinduism who shall save it? If India's own children do not cling to her faith who shall guard it. India alone can save India and India and Hinduism are one.

This is the India of which I speak - the India which, as I said, is to me the Holy Land. For those who, though born for this life in a Western land and clad in a Western body, can yet look back to earlier incarnations in which they drank the milk of spiritual wisdom from the breast of their true mother - they must feel ever the magic of her immemorial past, must dwell ever under the spell of her deathless fascination; for they are bound to India by all the sacred memories of their past; and with her, too, are bound up all the radiant hopes of their future, a future which they know they will share with her who is their true mother in the soul-life.

India is the mother of religion. In her are combined science and religion in perfect harmony, and that is the Hindu religion, and it is India that shall be again the spiritual mother of the world.

During the early life of a Nation, religion is an essential for the binding together of the individuals who make the nation. India was born, as it were, in the womb of Hinduism, and her body was for long shaped by that religion. Religion is a binding force, and India has had a longer binding together by religion than any other Nation in the world, as she is the oldest of the living Nations…”

Shamefully, here is the dullard from our own country who must’ve studied some other religion I guess..?:-

Dr. (Dalitrao xD) Ambedkar and his en-darkening anti-Hindu verbal diarrhea:

Judge for yourself…

Which verse here is original and which one is the interpolation?

This one?

Or this One?

"Do not be led by others,
Awaken your own mind,
Amass your own experience,
And decide for yourself your own path."
-The Atharva Veda

I personally don’t care that much about science in the Hindu Scriptures anyways as those parts are dwarfed by the practical metaphysical and philosophical parts.

Here is my closing part:

Quoted from Vishnu Purana-

“The Country that lies north of the ocean, and south of the snowy mountains, is called Bhárata, for there dwelt the successors of Bharata. It is nine thousand leagues in extent, and is the land of works, in consequence of which men go to heaven, or obtain emancipation.

From this region Swarga is obtained, or even, in some cases, liberation from existence; or men pass from hence into the condition of brutes, or fall into hell. Heaven, emancipation, a state in mid-air, or in the subterraneous realms, succeeds to existence here, and the world of acts is not the title of any other portion of the Universe.”

EDIT: MY FIRST CENTURY ON UPVOTES!!! THANX Y’ALL.

EDIT 2: MY THIRD CENTURY!!! WOOH!

EDIT 3: Some pseudo-rationalists have used their own shallow brains in interpreting the part in Vedic verses on the analogy of Sun as a charioteer. They have quoted other dullards and stated that Vedas imply that Sun drives around the Earth.

I am so appalled at their lack of perception and and smug pride on their half-knowledge that I have to restrain myself from falling to their level and using pathetic ad Hominems…

Sun as a Charioteer holds (allegory for it’s gravitational effect) it’s horses (as in the Planets and other celestial bodies) and moves around in the Milky Way revolving around it’s centre, NOT Earth-

"O, Bright sun, a chariot named Harit with Sevenhorses takes you to sky"

(Rig Ved 1/50/8)

Does the Sun revolve on an axis, or is it stationary in the middle of the Solar System?

Centre(As in the point) of our Galaxy is embodied/allegorised as Mount Meru and the formation of Milky Way is explicity explained in the cosmically allegorical tale of Samudra Manthan.

Abhishek Khanna's answer to What is the underlying symbolism of the 'Samudra Manthan'?

I hope these people learn something now…

EDIT 4: My 4th Century!!! Anyways, for humorous purposes, do read Sandeep Londhe’s comments in my comment section, if you want a prime example of how things get weird fast :D

EDIT 5: Sorry for those who missed out on Sandeep Londhe’s wise sermons (TEE HEE!) in my comment section. They were golden… and white and sticky… ;P

EDIT 6: Half a 1000 views! Thanks to all my readers :)

What are reasons that some people support Israel? by Kushal Kulshreshtha

Let me give you an Indian perspective. I have numerous reasons to support it.

Their courage and patriotism is beyond any comparison.

What if somebody is being continuously bullied by his neighbors, who are united due to religious fanaticism? And the guy who is being bullied always gives a befitting reply to the perpetrators.

It was the time of 1967 when a new nation, merely standing at the age of 20, which started with zero (literally) with its childhood occupied with internal pains, stood firm against 2 nations- Syria and Egypt. They did not surrender. Infact they won.

Again 5 years later, these 2 nations namely Syria and Egypt again repeated that cheap and inhumane tactic, this time when most of the Jewish soldiers were on holiday. They were equipped with the weapons supplied by the USSR. This time it was hard, and Israel disengaged itself from its land of Sinai due to UN, which was captured by them back in '68. But the thing to be noted is that Israel fought single handed against the bunch of 12 countries. But they not only fought but they were able to defeat the offenders.

Whenever our newspapers fetch stories from Israel, we always read about gruesome act by Lebanon, Hamas terrorists from Gaza strip etc. It takes a lot of courage to withstand that pressure, internal and external especially when you are surrounded by hostile neighborhood.

India too shares the same positions with Egypt and Syria as Pakistan and China. With far more power and arms than the former two and coridially acting to move against India, internal tensions of Kashmir, naxals etc I believe that India must learn fromIsrael.

Recently some UN resolution said that the land of Temple Mount has no ties with Israel. This is same as saying that Hindus with Sindh and Zoroastrians with Pasargadae (modern day Iran) have no ties. Basic understanding in history tells us that Jews lived there since 1000 BC. Do UN chaps mean that if some community has lost its ancestral land for some reason or the other, it severs the ties of that community with that land?

But above all, Mr Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime Minister of Israel had already flaunted his stance in UNGA by saying, "UN should not dictate its terms to Israel."

I admire them for the courage they hold that they are not afraid of anything powerful when it comes to their interest.

Their innovation (especially in arms)-

Well they are a new nation and have always supported India by providing with high quality weapons like IMI Tavor TAR-21 used by Indian special forces. A nation with little area is proving itself to be a backbone for arms supply for a huge nation like India. They have well managed their resources.

(Indian special forces using Tavor)

And yes, they helped us during the time of Kargil war by providing mortar, laser guided missiles, Israeli Heron and searcher Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Their help was crucial for us at the time of war.

(Israeli Heron)

Planes, Drones, Missiles: How Kargil changed Indo–Israeli Relations

The development they did in last 60 years-

As I already stated, they started from zero. And now Israel ranks 19th out of 187 nations nations on the UN's Human Development Index, which places it in the category of "Very Highly Developed" making Israel ahead of countries like France, Austria and Belgium. (India still ranks 135th)
Read Economy of Israel.
Table 1: Human Development Index and its components

(Israel in 1950)

(Israel in current form)

And yes, their military is tough and powerful, and beautiful too

Israel is one of the few countries in which even women have to serve for military. What I mean is this

and this

Moreover, Indian culture is respected by Israelis. Why will I support Arabs nations who don’t even have the maturity to respect other cultures. Why will I support them when I know that they call us ‘kafirs’ (infidels), idol worshipers to abuse us.

On the other hand Jews (Israelis) treat our culture with respect and sometimes even follow some of our practices. In 2014, Janmasthtmi, a festival in which Hindus celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated on a grand scale in Israel. Janmashtami a grand festival in Israeli town - Times of India

Then we have Israelis like Mr Ben A. Wise who scented Indian culture on his stay in India. He stayed in cities like Auroville, Chennai etc. He learnt Hindi and Tamil here. His bitter-sweet experiences are heartwarming and soothing. I always end up smiling after reading his experiences here. So much he respects India that he wanted to name his son as ‘Aryan’ but couldn’t do it as Nazis had infected this word. Hence he ended up naming his son ‘Soham’

Ben A. Wise's answer to How would a Jewish person react if he or she meets an Indian with the name 'Aryan' or someone with a Hindu swastika?

Ben A. Wise's answer to Which cities in India are most friendly to expats, and why?

Moreover, top writers like Mr Noam Kaiser also view India and Indians positively. He admires Indian army as one of the best in the world. He considers India as Israel’s ally. Why shouldn’t I respect the people who praise Indian army?

Noam Kaiser's answer to Does Israel consider India as an ally?

Noam Kaiser's answer to How are the Indian Armed Forces regarded by other countries?

Noam Kaiser's answer to What do Israelis think of India?

Israelis have the prowess of turning desert land into cultivatable land. They grow crops on barren land, with lowest water usage. Their irrigation technique is the best. And that is what we need in water scarce country like India. With the help of Israel, around 112,000 olive trees were planted in the Thar Desert.

I wonder why I shouldn’t be pro Israel. How can someone be reluctant to support Israel. I like their very idea of Zionism. Zionism was based on the thought of Hatikvah’-The Hope to return to Jerusalem. They had always remembered Jerusalem in days of exile in forms of hymns and prayers. I have read about the foundation of their country and I know very well the pain they took and dedication they possessed to do that. After 2000 years of persecution, they finally have their land which they can claim their own.

And so we have the 2 legendary statesmen, Mr Modi and Mr Netanyahu to carry our bilateral relations to the next level.

By the way today is birthday of Mr Netanyahu, honorable Prime Minister of Israel. I wish you very best wishes from India. I hope to see you visit India soon.

So these are the reasons, my friend that I support Israel, and I will always do so.

Ten verses in the Hindu Scriptures that would enlighten a non-Hindu

No one can push a boulder away while standing on it; you cannot be free from anxiety while all the entrances through which it sneaks in are open. -- Atharvana Veda

Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Reasoning is destroyed when the mind is bewildered. One falls down when reasoning is destroyed.                                 -- Bhagvat Gita

(Lead Us) From the Unreal To the Real,
 From Darkness To Light,
From Death To Immortality,
Peace Peace Peace. – Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
Thus occupied by many egoistic ideas, deluded, addicted to the gratification of desire (doing works, but doing them wrongly, acting mightily, but for themselves, for desire, for enjoyment, not for God in themselves and God in man), they fall into the unclean hell of their own evil. -- Bhagvat Gita

"Who really knows?
Who will here proclaim it?
Whence was it produced? Whence is this creation?
The gods came afterwards, with the creation of this universe.
Who then knows whence it has arisen?"  -- Rig Veda

Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana,
Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani

Let the fruit not be the purpose of your actions, and therefore you won’t be attached to not doing your duty. You have the right to perform your actions, but you are not entitled to the fruits of the actions. -- Bhagvat Gita
There is no happiness for him who does not travel, Rohita!
Thus we have heard. Living in the society of men, the best man becomes a sinner… therefore, wander!… The fortune of him who is sitting, sits; it rises when he rises; it sleeps when he sleeps; it moves when he moves. Therefore, wander!”  -- Rig Veda
(There is) just one divinity, manifestly hidden everywhere
Pervading everything, the soul of every living creature.
The one that directs the actions of all and lives across all times.
Witness to everything, pure and perfect, devoid of all (worldly) qualities and attributes.  -- Shvetashwataro Upanishad (credit: Som Bhatta)
The stalks of water-flowers are proportionate to the depth of water; so is humans greatness proportionate to their minds (Knowledge). -- Tirukural

Utlimately, Hinduism is about happiness. If you can find eternal happiness doing something, you are on the right path.

Why don’t some people believe in God?

I first started out religious. Then one day, I asked a question: Why do sooo many people believe in other gods?

So I started to research the problem. I read their holy texts, watched their sermons, and listened to the believers of those religions talk about their beliefs.

I realized that the believers in other gods were just like me. They were sincere and generally good people. The only difference was that most of them were brought up in a different religious setting.

Christians

Hindus

Muslims

Buddhists

Then I asked another question: If my god is the one true god, why would he allow so many other sincere and good people be led astray? Wouldn’t a god make an effort to make sure people knew who was the real god? And if one of their gods was real, why didn’t that god make sure that I knew who the real one was?

The only group that had a solid answer for this were atheists. They said the reason we believe in sincerely believe in so many different gods was that none of those gods were actually real.

Atheists

I started to listen to atheists and learned that many of them were just like me at one point: Good and sincere people who couldn’t understand why a god let the world get a certain way. They searched for answers and couldn’t find any.

I learned that atheists knew my religion better than I did. They would pick out parts of the holy texts that we seemed to always gloss over. I would learn that my god would endorse, and often conducted, genocide and murder many times in the holy text. Children were often targeted and slaughtered (ie: Passover). Women were to always be subservient to men. Slavery was legal and regulated to the point where you knew exactly how much you can beat a slave and get away with it.

I learned that the bible would have us believe in factual absurdities about reality. Did humans really come from just two people? Are we all the products of incest? Was the planet really flooded at one point? Where would have all of the water come from and where did it all go? How in the world would you fit two of every kind of animal, predator and prey alike, on a boat for an entire year and keep them alive? How would animals survive generations of inbreeding afterwards? How would have salt-water marine life and fresh-water marine life survive this event?

Why would an all-powerful god need to sacrifice a part of himself to himself to change the rules that he himself made and enforced? Can you really call it a sacrifice if, in the end, that god didn’t really give up anything? Why would an all-powerful god demand to be worshipped and threaten an eternity of pain if we didn’t?

On and on the questions went until I finally conceded the obvious: The god that I believed in didn’t actually exist. It was the invention of a people from a time who had different morals and a different understanding of the universe.

Furthermore, all of the other religions fell into the same problems. No other religion seemed to fit our morals or observations of the universe. They were artificially created by people too.

That’s why I’m an atheist. I don’t hate your god. I just don’t think it ever existed.

Be prepared before you visit Chongqing, China!!!

Chongqing, China!!!

.

It’s a 3D magical vertical jungle forest high skyline city

You may take the elevator to 10th floor and find a big road when you comes out,

You may walk into a building and want to go to 8th floor, but the elevator goes down!

The parking lot at the 5th or 6th floor is nothing special…

The scene in the Japanese movie “Spirited Away” is real in Chongqing, China

and it’s even more surrealistic

The transportation in Chongqing, China is like riding a roller coaster,

The slope and ramp angle is big, that you may feel your heart beats faster as dying when you take a trip

It only happens in Chongqing, China, that light rail enters into a building.

The local inhabitants take an elevator to there flat when they get down from the rial!!!

The rails pass your head, it’s normal here~~~

There are many layers of the flyover roads, does a google map helps?

No, you don’t know which floor you should drive if you are a foreigner….

You may think you are living at the 1st floor, but there are more than ten floors under your feet. Seriously!

Dark part of Indian history that gets no attention in schools or history textbooks

The genocide suffered by the Hindus and Sikhs of India at the hands of Arab, Turkish, Mughal and Afghan occupying forces for a period of 800 years is as yet formally unrecognised even within India. Professor K.S. Lal estimates that the Hindu population in India decreased by 80 million between 1000 AD and 1525 AD, an extermination unparalleled in World history. This slaughter of millions of people occurred over regular periods during many centuries of Arab, Afghan, Turkish and Mughal rule in India.

Sample what historians have written on the topic:

Dr. Koenraad Elst in his article “Was There an Islamic Genocide of Hindus?” states:“There is no official estimate of the total death toll of Hindus at the hands of Islam. A first glance at important testimonies by Muslim chroniclers suggests that, over 13 centuries and a territory as vast as the Subcontinent, Muslim Holy Warriors easily killed more Hindus than the 6 million of the Holocaust.

Will Durant argued in his book “The Story of Civilisation: Our Oriental Heritage”:“The Mohammedan conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. The Islamic historians and scholars have recorded with great glee and pride the slaughters of Hindus, forced conversions, abduction of Hindu women and children to slave markets and the destruction of temples carried out by the warriors of Islam during 800 AD to 1700 AD. Millions of Hindus were converted to Islam by sword during this period.”Francois Gautier in his book ‘Rewriting Indian History’ (1996) wrote:“The massacres perpetuated by Muslims in India are unparalleled in history, bigger than the Holocaust of the Jews by the Nazis; or the massacre of the Armenians by the Turks; more extensive even than the slaughter of the South American native populations by the invading Spanish and Portuguese.”Writer Fernand Braudel wrote in A History of Civilisations (1995), that“Islamic rule in India as a "colonial experiment" was "extremely violent", and "the Muslims could not rule the country except by systematic terror. Cruelty was the norm – burnings, summary executions, crucifixions or impalements, inventive tortures. Hindu temples were destroyed to make way for mosques. On occasion there were forced conversions. If ever there were an uprising, it was instantly and savagely repressed: houses were burned, the countryside was laid waste, men were slaughtered and women were taken as slaves."Alain Danielou in his book, Histoire de l' Inde writes:"From the time Muslims started arriving, around 632 AD, the history of India becomes a long, monotonous series of murders, massacres, spoliations, and destructions. It is, as usual, in the name of 'a holy war' of their faith, of their sole God, that the barbarians have destroyed civilizations, wiped out entire races."Irfan Husain in his article “Demons from the Past” observes:“While historical events should be judged in the context of their times, it cannot be denied that even in that bloody period of history, no mercy was shown to the Hindus unfortunate enough to be in the path of either the Arab conquerors of Sindh and south Punjab, or the Central Asians who swept in from Afghanistan…The Muslim heroes who figure larger than life in our history books committed some dreadful crimes. Mahmud of Ghazni, Qutb-ud-Din Aibak, Balban, Mohammed bin Qasim, and Sultan Mohammad Tughlak, all have blood-stained hands that the passage of years has not cleansed..Seen through Hindu eyes, the Muslim invasion of their homeland was an unmitigated disaster. Their temples were razed, their idols smashed, their women raped, their men killed or taken slaves. When Mahmud of Ghazni entered Somnath on one of his annual raids, he slaughtered all 50,000 inhabitants. Aibak killed and enslaved hundreds of thousands. The list of horrors is long and painful. These conquerors justified their deeds by claiming it was their religious duty to smite non-believers. Cloaking themselves in the banner of Islam, they claimed they were fighting for their faith when, in reality, they were indulging in straightforward slaughter and pillage…”

The historians and biographers of the invading armies and subsequent rulers of India have left quite detailed records of the atrocities they committed in their day-to-day encounters with India’s Hindus. A sample of contemporary eyewitness accounts of the invaders and rulers, during the Indian conquests.

Ferishtha lists several occasions when the Bahmani sultans in central India (1347-1528) killed a hundred thousand Hindus, which they set as a minimum goal whenever they felt like punishing the Hindus; and they were only a third-rank provincial dynasty. The Afghan ruler Mahmud al-Ghazni invaded India no less than seventeen times between 1001 – 1026 AD. The book ‘Tarikh-i-Yamini’ – written by his secretary documents several episodes of his bloody military campaigns : “The blood of the infidels flowed so copiously [at the Indian city of Thanesar] that the stream was discoloured, notwithstanding its purity, and people were unable to drink it…the infidels deserted the fort and tried to cross the foaming river…but many of them were slain, taken or drowned… Nearly fifty thousand men were killed.”In the contemporary record – ‘ Taj-ul-Ma’asir’ by Hassn Nizam-i-Naishapuri, it is stated that when Qutb-ul- Din Aibak (of Turko – Afghan origin and the First Sultan of Delhi 1194-1210 AD) conquered Meerat, he demolished all the Hindu temples of the city and erected mosques on their sites. In the city of Aligarh, he converted Hindu inhabitants to Islam by the sword and beheaded all those who adhered to their own religion.

The Persian historian Wassaf writes in his book ‘Tazjiyat-ul-Amsar wa Tajriyat ul Asar’ that when the Alaul-Din Khilji (An Afghan of Turkish origin and second ruler of the Khilji Dynasty in India 1295-1316 AD) captured the city of Kambayat at the head of the gulf of Cambay, he killed the adult male Hindu inhabitants for the glory of Islam, set flowing rivers of blood, sent the women of the country with all their gold, silver, and jewels, to his own home, and made about twentv thousand Hindu maidens his private slaves. The Afghan ruler Ahmad Shah Abdali attacked India in 1757 AD and made his way to the holy Hindu city of Mathura, the Bethlehem of the Hindus and birthplace ofKrishna. The atrocities that followed are recorded in the contemporary chronicle called : 'Tarikh-I-Alamgiri' :"Abdali's soldiers would be paid 5 Rupees (a sizeable amount at the time) for every enemy head brought in. Every horseman had loaded up all his horses with the plundered property, and atop of it rode the girl-captives and the slaves. The severed heads were tied up in rugs like bundles of grain and placed on the heads of the captives...Then the heads were stuck upon lances and taken to the gate of the chief minister for payment."It was an extraordinary display! Daily did this manner of slaughter and plundering proceed. And at night the shrieks of the women captives who were being raped, deafened the ears of the people...All those heads that had been cut off were built into pillars, and the captive men upon whose heads those bloody bundles had been brought in, were made to grind corn, and then their heads too were cut off. These things went on all the way to the city of Agra, nor was any part of the country spared".

Persecution of Hindus

On Muslim Personal Law Board's decision to boycott Uniform Civil Code

On Muslim Personal Law Board's decision to boycott Uniform Civil Code and challe… by Aditya Tiwari

There are 3 aspects to this debate :

PoliticalSocialReligious

So lets get in :

Political :

To start with, lets first argue why these two men are constantly fighting :

Sunni vs Shia ? No
For Obama and Putin ? Huh
For oil ? Who cares
Caliphate vs Secular Republic? Are you kidding me!!

They are fighting to maintain a grip over people, over the few hundred thousand men, women and children who inhabit the nations of Iraq and Syria. They are fighting to determine whose word will become the law, who determines the fate of common citizens.
They determine what is right and what is wrong for Muslims in Iraq and Syria.
Addiction to power is like addiction to alcohol…. it’s not easy to let go.

Same is the case with Muslim Personal Law Board.

It is the Muslim Personal Law Board that exhibits a tremendous influence over 180 million+ Indian Muslims. The Mullahs and maulanas under the gab of this Law Board have become the self appointed interpreters of Quran. They decide what is right and what is wrong for millions of Muslim women. Some politicians can do anything for their support. Their recent statements also show that they believe that they are parallel to the Parliament and above the Supreme Court of this nation. The representative Parliamentary democracy is for other people, for Indian muslims, it is their theocratic chauvinist Shoora that has been bestowed the responsibility to make personal laws.
They say any random garbage and it automatically becomes a word of law. Some genius also pointed out in another answer “Islam is governed by Sharia, if you are not comfortable, leave Islam !!”
In short, they exercise the same power as Al-Baghdadi sans the worries of running away from US drones or Russian fighter jets !!

Now, if Al-Baghdadi and Assad can bombard and destroy cities after cities to maintain their grip over few hundred thousand Muslims, do you think that these 41 ulamas are going to give up their power over 180 million Muslims so easily ?
Hence, they are resenting. If Uniform Civil Code is imposed, the members of the Muslim Personal Law Board become insignificant. No one would give a damn what they think or what they do. The power is automatically transferred to courts and Parliament. Hence, all this propaganda in the name of religion is just a facade to retain significance and power.

Their power is lessening, the bells for their ends have been rung.

2. Social

Most of us wont recognize this man in one go. He is Mohammad Bin Laden.
Does the surname ring some bells? Yup, he is the father of (in)famous Osama Bin Laden !!
He had 22 wives. You cant really blame Osama’s actions on his upbringing because he had 55 other kids as well. He was on his way to marry the 23rd when his plane crashed. He died at the tender age of 59 :(

You are married.
You get attracted to another woman.
You marry her, no issues !!
Repeat this process 3 more times.
But now Houston…. I mean Mecca, we have a problem !!
I am in love with a 5th woman, what should I do ?
Simple, chose one of your 4 wives in 4C1 ways. Utter “talaq talaq talaq”, throw a meagre mehramount on her face and continue with your lust.
If the man is well-doing and the girl is from a poor family, the deal is usually done with parents.

Is this some kind of joke? Is marriage a sacred institution or a legal and religious cover up for prostitution? Is it a bond between two souls or a market where you can buy and try different types of vaginas ?
No worries what happens to the young ones? The social and the psychological impact ?
Do the supporters of such draconian laws never realize that what if this happens with their mother or beloved sisters ?
Minor girls are abducted from our nation, aremarried to rich Sheikhs in Middle East. When they are fed up, they dump them using Sharia. Is it something to be proud of ?

Not to mention, many non-Muslims have misused this personal law for their own benefits, the most famous ones being superstar Dharmendra and Harayana politician Chander Mohan.

The right to polygamy and triple talaq is the biggest infringement on the Fundamental right of Equality.
i) Men can legally marry 4 times and women cannot.
ii) Men can also divorce with triple pronouncements of the word 'Talaq' and women cannot.
iii) There is no real provision for maintenance in law and it boils down to women getting temporary maintenance under CPC till they get actually divorced. After that, they are left at the mercy of the Wakf board. The Mehr amount decided during marriage is usually meager when compared to alimony and is mostly inadequate to provide for the women and kids, especially if she is illiterate.
iv) Women do not take an equal right in the property of their father.
v) Moreover, it also discriminates a Muslim man from a non-Muslim man.
vi) Not to forget a Muslim woman from a non-Muslim one.

Also, it incentivizes women NOT to practice permanent birth control methods for if our husband leaves her after it, she is doomed. (as it recently happened with a woman in Jaipur). Also, if each person starts fathering 8–10 kids (2/woman), its not hard to imagine the population explosion and the rampant economic crisis that is to follow.

The arguments provided by the Perosnal Law Board are even more hilarious.

Argument : If triple talaq is denied, the person may kill his wife to get rid of her.
Counter : Oh, so man’s will is supreme. Is IPC 302 not applicable? Is man above the law and system. Also if I dont like Fawad Khan, and he refuses to go back to Pakistan, I have legitimate right to murder him in cold blood. I also have the right to nuke Pakistan because I dont like them, right ?

Argument : In the contract of marriage, both partners are not equal. Male is stronger and female weaker sex.
Counter : FEMINISTS…. Tonight we dine in hell. THIS IS SPARTAAAAA !!

Argument : Polygamy is a “social need” and a “blessing” for women because “an unlawful mistress is more harmful for social fabric than a lawful second wife”
Counter : From point of view of first wife and her kin, both are the same thing. It doesnt matter whether you do it in a brothel or right in front of her eyes in her very own bedroom. The social fabric has been destroyed for her, the emotional aspect of marriage is more or less over.

Argument : Personal laws of a community cannot be rewritten in the name of social reform.
Counter : Says who? Google Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Eshwar Chandra Vidyasagar. They rewrote and dumped off many outdated traditions of Hinduism. Let’s be clear sir,Constitution is above any religious book or some archaic law. You abide by it or you go to jail.

Hence, the resentment by few individuals is due to the fact that Uniform Civil Code will snatch their unconstitutional privileges, will shake the status quo and will make them equal to others. Hence, they are also in for a power struggle.

3. Religious :

Is Islam standing on the pillars of polygamy and triple talaq ? If these are not practiced, does it make you less of a Muslim ?
Indonesia, the nation with the highest Muslim population doesnt practice triple talaq. Are they less Muslims ?
A nation which goes by the name of Islamic Republic of Pakistan forbids it too. You are saying that Pakistanis are less Muslims !!!
Iran…. Ayatullah, non Muslims ?
Then why creating the brouhaha calling Uniform Civil Code as an infringement on religion ?
Lord Krishna had not 1, not 2, not 3 but 16108 wives !! The constitution forbade us from keeping more than 1 wife. Is it an insult to Lord Krishna ? Is it an infringement of Hinduism.

If your chauvinism and extremism is not allowing you to see the logic, go to the nearest store, buy the latest version of Time Machine and change the counter from 0709 to 2016. You’re done !!

As Canadian intellectual Tarek Fateh correctly puts it “There are 2 types of Muslims. Allah’s Muslims and Mullah’s Muslims.”

It’s upto you to decide which category do you want to go into.

Foods that Look like the Body Part they are Good for

It is amazing how Nature has given us hints about food that is beneficial for us in terms of its resemblance to our organs. Following are some examples:

Walnut- brain

Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are similar to those of the neo-cortex. Known as the ultimate “brain food”, Walnuts contain vitamin E, folate, melatonin, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants that work to improve brain function.

2Carrot – Eye

It is clear that a sliced carrot resembles an eye, it even has patterns of radiating lines that look just like the pupil and iris! Beta-carotene (what gives carrots their vibrant orange colour) helps to maintain healthy eyesight, protects against macular degeneration, and the development of cataracts.

3. Celery-bone

Celery, Rhubarb, Bok-choy and more look just like bones structure. These foods specifically target bone strength. Celery contains silicon, which is part of what gives bones their strength. Here’s an astonishing fact: bones are 23% sodium, and celery is also 23% sodium.

4. Tomato- heart

A Tomato has four chambers and is red in color, so also the heart is red and has four chambers. Research has confirmed that tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and it is indeed pure heart and blood food.

5. Avocado – Uterus

Avocados are shaped like the uterus and cervix, and avocados have been shown to balance hormones and prevent cervical cancer! And guess what? Just as it takes exactly 9 months for a baby to fully develop in the womb, it takes an avocado exactly 9 months to grow from a blossom into a ripened fruit!

6. Sweet potato- Pancreas

sweet potato has a striking resemblance to the pancreas, and has been shown to help the pancreas do its job by helping to stabilize blood sugar levels and can actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics. Sweet potatoes are also naturally high in Vitamin B6, which studies have shown inhibits the growth of pancreatic cancer!

7. Ginger – Stomach

Ginger looks like the stomach and aids in digestion! Ginger has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for stomach health. Gingerol, the ingredient that gives ginger it’s strong scent and taste, is listed in the USDA database of phytochemicals as having the ability to prevent nausea and vomiting.

8. Grapes – Lungs

Grapes, especially heirloom concord grapes, resemble the alveoli of the lungs. The alveoli of the lungs allow oxygen to pass from the lungs to the bloodstream. A diet high in fresh grapes has shown to reduce the risk of lung cancer! Grape seeds also contain a chemical called proanthocyanidin, which can reduce the severity of allergy-triggered asthma.

9. Kidney beans- Kidneys

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and are shaped exactly like the human kidneys (hence their name). Kidney beans provide a variety of minerals and vitamins, and so are generally beneficial for your health. If your kidneys are healthy, kidney beans can -- when consumed as part of a balanced diet -- contribute to your kidney health. If your kidneys are diseased, you might need to moderate your intake of kidney beans.

10. Grapefruit – Breast

Grapefruit, oranges, and other citrus fruits resemble female mammary glands and help the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts! According to Dr. Moulavi, “Grapefruit contains substances called limonoids, which have been shown to inhibit the development of cancer in lab animals and in human breast cells.”

So there you have it. Eat wisely, eat healthy and live healthy!
